All salary grades for trainees titles are non-statutory (NS) equated to the salary grade identified. These grade equations apply to the starting salaries in their respective salary schedule for the traineeship levels.

Job Description

Food Distribution Administrators provide professional administrative support to food distribution programs including the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), DOD Fresh Program, Pilot for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables, Special Milk Program (SMP), and the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP). Employees will administer segments multiple food programs and may supervise paraprofessional and/or clerical staff.

Trainees will receive a combination of structured training, on-the-job training, and/or practical job performance to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to function at the full performance level.

A bachelor's or higher degree.

Advanced Placement

If chosen, you may, at the agency's discretion, be appointed to a higher level. You must inform the agency of any additional qualifications at your interview.

For Trainee 2 you must also have:

Either 1. One year of administrative or management experience with planning, directing, and coordinating the storage and distribution of food and related food distribution materials for an adult/child nutrition program, food bank, food distribution service, hospital, residential institution for adults or children, restaurant, hotel, or recreational complex; OR

2. a master's or higher degree.

For the Full Performance Level you must also have:

Either 1. Two years of administrative or management experience with planning, directing, and coordinating the storage and distribution of food and related food distribution materials for an adult/child nutrition program, food bank, food distribution service, hospital, residential institution for adults or children, restaurant, hotel, or recreational complex; OR

2. a master's or higher degree AND one year of administrative or management experience with planning, directing, and coordinating the storage and distribution of food and related food distribution materials for an adult/child nutrition program, food bank, food distribution service, hospital, residential institution for adults or children, restaurant, hotel, or recreational complex.
